Spring into New Carpark Technology

Spring has sprung, and at Tok Corporate Centre we welcome you to the second edition of our email and on-line newsletter.

On 1 September we welcomed Tok’s new carpark managers – Wilson Parking.

Wilson has been contracted for the next three years, and with their appointment comes some exciting and convenient changes for Tok Corporate Centre clients.

Towards the end of September the carpark will become automated – with pay stations to be located on both levels. The new technology will also extend to security cameras and communication links to the Wilson Park Watch customer service office. A customer service liaison staff member will also be on site for the first few weeks, to ensure a smooth transition.

The 90 minutes free parking will remain, plus fees will remain as per the current schedule, subject to future fluctuation as they do now. The automation removes the hassle of the validation process for customers and retailers – as the set-up will be established to ensure if a customer has been in the carpark less than 90 minutes they will not be charged.

We’d like to remind Tok Corporate Centre businesses to park on the top level of the carpark, to ensure premium parking is available for all-important customers. If you apply for permanent parking status, you can also have convenient 24/7 access.

Tok Corporate Centre is conveniently located close to the CBD, with easy access to Monash Freeway and the airport. And of course shopping at Tok H Shopping Centre and the delights of Toorak Village are right on your doorstep!

Newly established company, Empire Property Investors, recently set up business at Tok Corporate Centre.

Simultaneously opening new branches in Sydney, Brisbane and Adelaide as well as Melbourne, the integrated property firm specialises in house and land packages and apartments (both new and off-the-plan, low and luxury ends), property investment, property development, finance and property management.

The company has three owners, including Norma Bula, who is Melbourne branch Director. Occupying two Tok Corporate Centre suites, Norma looks after property acquisitions, while Sang Duong is in charge of sales. There’s also a team of 10 consultants, primarily based ‘on the road’ .

Norma decided on a serviced office, after previously heading up a similar company where: “We spent $20,000 per month just on office rental, and were over-capitalising for something we didn’t need.”

Of Tok Corporate Centre, she says: “It’s clean. The girls are lovely, and because they do everything for you, we don’t need our own receptionist.”

Norma says security was also a big concern for her: “From a women’s point of view it’s safe when you’re leaving late, because the car park is secure.”

If you notice an extra flurry of activity at the Ovarian Cancer Research Foundation over the coming weeks, it’s because they’re gearing up for their annual Silver Ribbon Exposure Gala on Saturday 17 October.

To be held at Peninsula at the Docklands, and with a La Dolce Vita (1950s Italian) theme, the event is an important fundraiser for the Foundation, which aims to foster research into finding a detection test to diagnose the disease at an early stage .

Currently there are no effective early screening methods for the malignant tumour which appears on the ovary, and yet one woman dies from ovarian cancer in Australia every 10 hours. When detected early 80-100% of women will survive beyond five years compared with only 20-30% when diagnosed at a late stage.

The Foundation’s head office has been located at Tok Corporate Centre for nine years, with seven staff currently based there. The Foundation also has a research team of seven full time research appointments based at Prince Henry’s Institute.
